Callum Martin Charlie Chaplin

  • Sir Charles spencer "Charlie" Chaplin was an English silent film star. His career lasted 75 years, he was born in 1889 and died in 1977. He became a known name when he created his alter ego "the tramp" and he is now considered one of the most good people in the movie industry. As he grew up poor in the Victorian era he was sent to the workhouse twice at just nine years of age and just when you would think his life couldn't get any worse his mother was committed to a mental asylum, a rough life but luckily by 1914 he was working with keystone studios producing silent films. He later received an honorary academy award in 1972 fo "the very big effect he has had in making moving pictures the art form of this century".
